RF Linking News

20 Sep 2003 - Well a month has passed since licensing. At the moment we await our new transmitter. It should have arrived by now so I will do some chasing. Apart from that everything is ready to go for the new gateway. There is a change of plan about Echolink. It is likely that the eQSO gateway will move to 434.475 and will cease soon on 430.050 MHz. An Echolink gateway may have to wait a while.

21 Aug 2003 - The RA have licensed our new gateway M0KFW-L  so keep an eye on 434.475 Mhz for test transmissions. This gateway should be on air early September.

04 Aug 2003 - GB3XC echolink repeater licence has been delayed due to all 70cm repeater applications being suspended indefinitely by the RA. This is bad news because the future of GB3EX is also in doubt due to lack of funding. If you want to help GB3EX survive, please send a donation to the PO Box address stating it’s for GB3EX and I will pass it on or contact ALEC-AT-G8GON.COM.

01 Aug 2003 - Our little group has put an application in for licensing a new Echolink gateway on 434.475. This is under the callsign M0KFW and could be live in September. Ken M0KFW is providing the site and it is high up so mobile coverage will be very good.

23 Jun 2003 - RX Audio level Problem with link. Stations could not hold RX vox open and could not be heard in 101E. The problem is now fixed.

19 Apr 2003 - Testing processing of audio on both RX and TX. This should eliminate the problem of some stations being too quiet to hold the VOX while others clip and distort. Levels should be automatically controlled on both RX and TX with limiting automatically applied when needed. - Reports welcome.

29 Mar 2003 - Some minor updates to the web site. Thanks to G4FZN, Chris for persuading his better half to record the voice announcement for the link. It sounds very good.

22 Mar 2003 - Transmitter Replaced. Thanks again go to Peter of Garex for his time and effort with the link RF hardware. The Echolink crosslink is operating today also.
